Špotáková Second in Berlin
Former Gopher All American and two-time Olympic champion Barbora Špotáková finished second in the javelin at the ISTAF Meet in Berlin on Sunday. She tossed the spear 66.83m to finish behind Sunette Viljoen of South Africa who threw 67.52m. It was a tight battle among the top four placers at the London Games and came down to the last throws. Viljoen had led from the beginning of the competition, but Špotáková took the lead with her longest throw of the day on her last toss, only to have Games fourth-place finisher Viljoen throw further on her final attempt.
