Sophormore's Matthew Berens and Caitlin Fermoyle were named MIAC athletes of the week for their performances last Saturday.
Bethel's Berens won men's race at the 50th Annual Les Duke Invitational 8K in Grinnell, Iowa in 25:33. Berens was five seconds in front of teammate and race runner-up, Zach Haskins.
Gustavus' Fermoyle won the women's 6K at the St. John's Invitational in Collegeville in 23:24, 2:11 faster than her time on the same course in 2011. Fermoyle became the first Gustie runner since Hailey Harren (07) in 2006 to win a XC race.
