The U of M women's track team will compete this weekend at the Iowa State Classic in Ames. Big Ten athlete of the week, Jamie Cheever, moves up to the 3K while Heather Dorniden will run the mile. Paul vaulters Andrea Smith, Alicia Rue, and Laura Massey hope to continue their rewriting of the Gopher record book and their own personal bests. Pentathlete Liz Roehrig continues to prepare for the outdoor season by competing in three events. Results can be found here.
The Gopher men will split their team this weekend. The majority of the team will compete in Ames. Several of the distance runners will run at the University of Washington’s Husky Classic. The rest of the men's team Gophers will compete at the St. Cloud State Open. Links to these three meets can be found here.
Many MIAC teams will also be competing in Ames at the Iowa State meet. Others will be at the Tostrud Classic, in St. Cloud, St. Scholastica, Augsburg, or at the Bison Classic. The full schedule and listing of the MIAC athletes of the week can be found here.
Locally, the Marathon Sports Valentine 5K is Saturday at Lake Harriet starting at 10 a.m.
