McKenzie
Melander, a former Twin Cities In Motion College Scholarship winner, won the
women’s division of the TC 5K, presented by Fredrikson & Byron, part of the
Medtronic TC Family Events held on the State Capitol grounds Saturday.

Rosemount High School star Jordan Carlson won the men’s division of the TC 5K,
running 15:02. Melander, who attended Eastview High School and recently joined
the professional distance training group Team USA Minnesota, clocked 17:05.

Cities In Motion College Scholarship, which Melander won in 2008, is based on
academic performance shown through grades, leadership, a commitment to community
service or helping others, and a dedication to maximizing running potential.

won the TC 10K in 32:14. McKenzie Holt won the women’s competition in 36:16.
