U-Mary's Melissa Agnew ran 4:28.02 to win the women's 1,500 and MSU Mankato's Chris Reed won the shot put with a throw of 65'7"(19.99m) at the NCAA DII Championships in Pueblo, CO.
U-Mary also got points from Kathryn Stewart in the 200 where she placed sixth in 23.80. U-Mary finished tied for 11th in the women's team competition with 19 points. MSU Mankato got points from Jerrell Hancock in the 200(20.94 in sixth) as well as running a leg on the eighth place 4 by 100 relay team of Hancock, Nocholas Nelson, Carmano Lane, and Anthony Gustafson who ran 40.31. MSU Mankato finished tied for 12th in the men's team competition. Hancock ran one other event on Saturday, the 100, where he was ninth in 10.59.
MSU Moorhead finished tied for 27th with 10 points. Derek Bredy, who was second earlier in the long jump, finished 14th in the triple jump(47'10"/14.58m) on Saturday. Alissa Rausch of Winona State also finished 14th in the shot put(45'1.75"/13.76m) as her team finished in a tie for 42nd on the five points she won in the discus earlier in the week. Heather Schultz of MSU Moorhead finished 17th in the shot(44'5.25"/13.54m).
