The Medtronic TC 1 Mile is beginning to resemble a boxing match or a track sprint race with all the pseudo "trash talk" on Twitter. Charlie Mahler of Twin Cities in Motion has become the Don King of the promotion, getting TC mile champs and current and past record holders in the men's race, Nick Willis and David Torrence, to play the role of the "brawlers" in this contest.
He does a brief interview with them HERE. The women have remained above the fray. Maybe they have their "fireworks" planned for the press conference on Thursday. Are you ready for some running!!!
If you want to get a sense of what life is like for an elite runner, you can click HERE for the Google+ hangout that Minneapolis Running's Nathan Freeburg had with the duo of Will Leer and Heather Kampf on Monday night. you'll find out, among other things, that Kampf's parents nicknamed her Seabiscuit. That Leer likes to read books on the beach, as well as how they train and manage their daily schedules.
Bring Back the Mile interview with Gabe Grunewald is HERE. Runner's World's Peter Gambaccini's story on Nick Willis is HERE.
