Gopher Men Finish tied for Twelvth at NCAAs

The University of Minnesota men's team finished 12th at the NCAA DI Indoor Track Championships. Miler John Simons, Weight Thrower Jon Lehman, and 800 runner Harun Abda all placed fifth in their events to vault the Gopher men into seventh place after fourteen events at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track Championships Saturday in Fayetteville, AK.  Simons ran his second sub four minute mile in two weeks to finish in 3:59.74(Final results with splits are HERE).  Lehman  threw 21.35m(70' .5") on his second throw(full results are HERE..  Teammate Micah Hegerle threw 20.19m(66' 3") on his second throw, but only the top nine throwers advanced to the final round and Hegerle was 12th. Abda ran 1:48.24(Full results and splits are HERE.). The Gopher 4 by 400 relay finished 12th in 3:08.65. Relay results are HERE.
