Morgan Place and Tom Sederquist were named USA Track and Field Minnesota Athletes of the Month for October, the organization announced today.
Place, a junior at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, was honored for winning the Maroon II race at last month’s Roy Griak Invitational. Place won the race, consisting of NCAA Division II schools, with a time of 21:49 over the hilly 6K University of Minnesota course.
Sederquist, a junior at Concordia College in Moorhead, was recognized for winning the Maroon III race at the Griak meet. In the race involving NCAA Division III teams, Sederquist won with a time of 25:39.
USA Track & Field Minnesota selects Athletes of the Month to honor excellence in track and field and its related sports in Minnesota. USA Track & Field is the governing body of the sport in the United States and the Minnesota Association of USATF sanctions and sponsors track and field, cross country, road racing, and racewalking events for athletes of all ages in the state.
