Thanks to its strong performance at the NCAA Pre-National meet on Saturday, the University of Minnesota women's cross country team finds itself in the top-20 of the latest NCAA Division I cross country poll, released yesterday.
The Gophers, moving up seven spots in the rankings from last week, are ranked #19 in the nation.
The Gopher women trail only #16 Michigan State among Big Ten schools in the rankings. Michigan is ranked #21. In the Midwest Regional rankings released earlier in the week, the Gopher women are ranked #2 behind Iowa State.

The University of Minnesota men fell out of the NCAA top-30 this week. The team had been ranked #25 going into Pre-Nats.
The Gopher men remain the #4-ranked men's team in the Midwest Region.
