Added anecdote from the State Meet. After the Class A girls's 800, I was interviewing Watertown-Mayer's Liz Miller after her win. Concordia University's Mike Stoick, a grad assistant coach for the middle and distance runners who was a volunteer marshall for the State Championships, came by and said: "Ask her about her dancing." Miller laughed: "It's just what I do before the race," she said. I asked if it was hip hop or some other form. Miller said neither. Stoick added that he didn't think it fit in any particular category, but that it was a graceful dance movement that could entertain those watching and get Miller a bit of a pre-race warm up before the race started.
