Minnesota Masters runner Jim Schoffman, who runs for Mass Velocity led off for the team that finished 11th in the 4 by 400 relay at Penn on Friday.Schoffman ran 65.23 for the first leg. The team's final time was 4:27.30 and was the third fastest over 60 team. The 4 by 400 combined teams of Masters 50 years old and up. Full event results are HERE.
Schoffman was also seventh in the men's 60 and up 100 in 14.16. Full 100 results are HERE.
Susan Loyd, who also runs for Mass Velocity ran the anchor leg for her team in the Mixed 4 by 100 relay that placed 12th overall and was the first W50 team. Full results of that race are HERE. She also ran on the woman's Mass Velocity 4 by 400 team that finished seventh, running the anchor leg in 80.3.
Today, Schoffman will be running on the M40 4 by 400 because the Mass Velocity team will be one man short. "I'm the next fastest that will be around," says Schoffman, so he got the call to duty. He writes about Friday's mixed 4 by 400, saying: "THE $ B $(( IS ALL THE M%0 and M60 in hone heat, 24 teams with a waterfall start.I'm leading off. I'm told: 'grip the baton hard and run for your life.'"
