A trio of current and former Gophers have qualified for the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Senior Championships, which will be held in Michoacan, Mexico, July 5-8. Alena Brooks, Te'Shon Adderley and Todea-Kay Willis will all represent their countries at the games.
Brooks won gold in the 800 meters at Trinidad's national championships. She turned in a personal-record time of 2 minutes, 5.25 seconds. Brooks also placed second in the 400. At the CAC meet, her 4x400m relay team will try to qualify for the World Championships.
Adderley won the 800m in the Bahamas. At last year's CAC meet, she took bronze in the 1,500.
Willis was Jamaica's long jump runner-up with a leap of 20-4 1/2 (6.21m). During summer 2012, Willis won Jamaica's Olympic Trials.
