Two-time Big Ten cross country champion Hassan Mead will miss the entire 2010 Gopher cross country season as he recovers from a collapsed lung, the Minnesota Daily reports.
You can read the full story HERE.
Mead (pictured), a three-time cross country all-American for the Gophers who had already missed last spring's indoor and outdoor track seasons with an Achilles tendon injury, was hospitalized on September 7 when his lung collapsed while running, according to the story.
Mead was recently released from the hospital, but there is currently no timetable for his return to athletics.
The news comes as the #27-ranked Gophers prepare to host Saturday's Roy Griak Invitational.
