University of Minnesota junior Stephanie Price was named this week's Big Ten's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference announced yesterday.
Price, a Mankato Loyola alumnus, was honored for winning the individual title at last weekend's Oz Memorial Run. Price clocked 21:16 for the 6K race, leading the Gopher women to the team title at the meet.
The award is Price's first-ever Big Ten weekly honor.
Gophers in the Polls ... As we reported on DtB's Facebook page and your editor's Twitter feed yesterday, the University of Minnesota cross country teams lost ground in the NCAA Division I national rankings this week.
The women fell to #25 in the nation (they were #21, previously), while the men lost one spot to rank #27.
Regionally, the Gopher women are #3 in the Midwest Region, while the men rank #4.
