A fourth-straight Big Ten indoor title wasn't in the cards for the University of Minnesota women's track team on Sunday.
The Gophers finished 4th at the Big Ten Championships, behind hosts Penn State, which tallied 111 points, Ohio State which scored 88, and Indiana which tallied 83.
The Gophers scored 82 points.
“We had a few people who didn’t perform as well as we’d hoped today,” Gopher head coach Matt Bingle said in a media release. “At a meet of this quality, you have to be at the top of your game; your whole team competing at their best. We had some great individual performances and I don’t want to take away from those, but as a team today we needed to perform at a higher level.”
