Emily Brown Makes World Cross Team

Team USA Minnesota's Emily Brown will join teammate Patrick Smyth on the USA team for next weekend's IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Brown (pictured), who finished 7th at the USA Cross Country Championships in Spokane, Washington, appeared to have missed making the six-woman team by one heartbreaking place.

When USA Track and Field announced its squads for the meet, however, Brown was part of the team, replacing 6th-place finisher Sara Hall.

Smyth made the men's World Cross squad by virtue of his runner-up finish at the USA Cross Country Championships.
