The Miles' Lists: Pole Vault

Here's this week's field event installment of the Miles' Lists -- the comprehensive 2009 and all-time Minnesota boys high school track and field performance lists compiled by Tim and Bill Miles.

Shaise Schuette of St. Francis tops the 2009 list with his 15-0 MSHSL Class AA title-winning clearance.

The #2 vaulter on the list 2009, though, is perhaps the most intriguing. Christian Kolb of Mankato West cleared a Minnesota all-time sophomore best of 14-10 last year. In 2008, his 14-3 was the all-time freshman best. If he tops Chip Malmstrom of Mahtomedi's 1994 vault of 15-3 this year, he'd become the top Minnesota junior all time ... and surpass his own father, Matt Kolb whose 15-1 1/2 clearance as an Osseo High School senior in 1982 ranks him #10 all-time in Minnesota.
