Brophy Achman (pictured), in addition to heading the organization the run the Medtronic Twins Cities Marathon, is now in charge of the running industry's trade organization. She replaces former New York City Marathon director Allan Steinfeld, who had served as Running USA's president since the organization's inception in 1999.

Running USA was created to improve the status of road racing in the United States through collective marketing and promotions, services to runners and events, and by the development of American world class athletes.
The Running USA presidency is the second important national office Brophy Achman holds in the sport. In December 2008, Brophy Achman was elected chairwoman of USA Track & Field's Women's Long Distance Running Committee.
