How can a national-class track and field athlete fly under the radar in Minnesota?

The answer: Throw the javelin and compete at a Division III college.

Lisa Brown is closing out her remarkable career at Gustavus Adolphus College by throwing at the MIAC conference meet at Carleton this weekend, followed by the D3 national meet in Marietta, Ohio, two weeks later. The Lake Crystal native will start this weekend by competing in her specialty on Friday afternoon and then move to the shot put and finish with the discus on Saturday.

This week we will shine the spotlight on Lisa Brown with the question ...

Yes/No: Will Lisa Brown break her own conference javelin record of 158-5 at the MIAC Championships on Friday afternoon?

Note: Lisa Brown is a 2-time D3 National Champ in the javelin and was the runner-up in 2007. Brown threw 174-5 in 2008 which made her the 11th best thrower in the United States that year. She qualified and competed in the Olympic Trials last year and has already qualified for the USA Championships in 2009. Brown's best throw so far in 2009 has been 161-0 when she placed 3rd at Drake Relays. She is the 3-time defending MIAC champ in the javelin.

To play our game, simply type "yes" or "no" into the subject line of an e-mail and send it to us at DtBFantasy [AT] gmail [DOT] com before 2:00 p.m. CDT Friday, May 8th. We will continue to offer a bonus for participants making their debut in Yes/No - a correct answer will be worth two points for any first-time players.

Please note the early deadline this week due to the javelin starting Friday afternoon.

My Answer: No.

Yes/No contestants were split last week in answering the question "Will a Gopher break the men’s outdoor school record of 13:44.30 in the 5000m at Stanford on Saturday?" Hassan Mead proved the affirmitive as he took an astonishing 16 seconds off his school record.

You can find the Y/N leaderboard HERE.

Good luck and thanks for playing Yes/No on DtB!
