In the Mix: Anderson 3rd in Pre Classic 1500

With the U.S. Olympic Track and Field Trials less than three weeks away, Team USA Minnesota's Gabriele Anderson finds herself in the mix for an Olympic berth at 1500-meters after her third place finish in the event at the Prefontaine Classic on Saturday.

The former Perham High School and University of Minnesota star clocked 4:06.77, finishing  behind Alice Schmidt (4:05.64) and 2011 world champion Jenny Simpson (4:06.10).  Anderson outran 2008 Olympic Games finalist Shannon Rowbury (4th, 4:07.16) and 2008 Olympic steeplechaser Anna Willard (5th, 4:07.81).
