High School Section Action Hitting Full Stride

Minnesota's high school tracksters are hitting full speed this week with Section Meet competition underway at venues across the state.  Competitors are hoping, of course, to qualify for next weekend's MSHSL State Meet at Hamline Univeristy.

The state's top two girls' distance runners seem be excited about Section Meet season ... defending Class AA 3200m  champion Jamie Piepenburg of Alexandria clocked a 10:24.57 metric two-mile at the Section 8AA Meet last night, the third-fastest 3200m by a Minnesota  girl all-time. 

At about the same moment, Maria Hauger of Shakopee, the 2010 Class AA champ at 3200m, was running a 10:27.68 -- good for #4 on the all-time list -- at the Section 2AA Meet. Section action runs through Saturday.
