USA Track and Field Minnesota will host a new long distance running series aimed at determining the state's top runners across all of the sports disciplines, the organization announced today.
The six race Ultimate Runner Series, presented by Lifetime Fitness, will challenge runners on the roads, over the trails, around the track, and in cross country.
The series kicks off April 14th with the USATF Minnesota 10 Mile Individual Championship, held in conjunction with Goldy's Run at the University of Minnesota. Races in the series include a track 5000-meters and a road mile. The series will conclude in November.
Individual prize money will be awarded to open and masters runners at each race. Athletes who compete in all six series races will earn a technical t-shirt, while series winners will earn a jacket.
