University of Minnesota senior Hassan Mead picked up his second Big Ten Runner of the Week honor of the 2011 season after being the top finisher from the conference at last Friday's Wisconsin Adidas Invitational in Madison.The Minneapolis South alumnus finished fifth overall to lead the #12-ranked Golden Gophers to a seventh place team finish at the meet. Mead ran the 8K Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in 23:31, the fastest time in his Gopher career.
Over the weekend Mead was also awarded the 2011 Henry Williams Scholar-Athlete Award for the University of Minnesota.
