University of Minnesota senior Megan Duwell capped her sterling collegiate career with a 12th-place finish in last night 10,000-meter race at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Gopher junior Nikki Tzanakis finished 15th in the discus throw with a mark of 155-7.
Duwell clocked a personal best 33:40.94 in the race, the second fastest 25-lapped in Gopher women's history. (Eileen Donaghy's 33:31.96 from 1988 is the only U of M mark better than Duwell's.)

Tzanakis landed her best effort on her third attempt and final attempt of the day. Southern Illinois’ Jeneva McCall won the event with a throw of 180-4.
