For the tenth time in her burgeoning career, Gopher pole vaulter Alicia Rue was named the Big Ten's Field Event Athlete of the Week.
Rue (pictured), the two-time defending Big Ten indoor champion, earned her latest honor after winning the women's pole vault competition with a clearance of 14-1 3/4 at the Minnesota Open last Saturday.
The Gopher senior was already an automatic qualifier to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships thanks to her 13-11 1/2 win at the Northwest Open on January 9.
A three-time NCAA All-American in the pole vault, the Robbinsdale Armstrong alum was the runner-up at the NCAA Indoor Championships last year.
