Team USA Minnesota Adds Emi Trost, Joel Reichow, and Dakotah Lindwurm to the Team

Sept. 4, 2018 – Team USA Minnesota has added three up-and-coming distance runners – Emi Trost, Joel Reichow and Dakotah Lindwurm – to its roster of athletes who compete on the track, in cross country and on the roads.  The training group, which was formed in 2001 and has developed an Olympian and 24 national champions, now has 10 runners on the team.

“We are very excited to add these three native Minnesota runners to our team with each having a different set of skills to complement our group,” said Chris Lundstrom, Team USA Minnesota coach.  “Emi had a stellar collegiate career and we believe she has the talent and drive to excel in the mid-distance events at the professional level.

“Joel has excellent range and we expect him to compete well on the track, especially in the 10,000 meters, as well as in cross country and on the roads from the 10k up through the half marathon.  Dakotah is a pure long distance runner who will focus on road races from the 10 mile up through the marathon.”

Trost is from Goodhue, Minnesota, running for Cannon Falls High School where she was a three-time state champion.  During her collegiate career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, she qualified for 10 NCAA DII National Championship meets, and won the 1500 meters at the DII Outdoor Championships in 2017.  She has posted 2:04 in the 800m, 4:12 in the 1500m, and 4:37 in the mile.  She graduated last spring with a degree in exercise science.

Reichow was a prep competitor at White Bear Lake High School in the Twin Cities, competing in cross country and track.  At South Dakota State University, he was a two-time NCAA DI Cross Country All-American finishing as high as 20th at the National Cross Country Championships.  During his collegiate career, he set three school records – Outdoor 5000m, Indoor 5000m, and Outdoor 10,000m.  His bests were 13:53 in the 5000m and 28:55 in the 10,000m.  He graduated in 2017 with a degree in biology.

Although Lindwurm (nee Bullen) ran track and cross country at St. Francis High School in Minnesota, her primary prep sport was girls hockey as the goaltender for the combined St. Francis/North Branch team.  At Northern State University in Aberdeen, Lindwurm focused on running and was a five-time DII National Qualifier, finishing sixth in the 10,000m at the National Championships.  Since completing her collegiate career in December 2017, Lindwurm took to the roads and won the USATF Minnesota 8k Championship last March, and the Women Run the Cities 10 Mile in May.  She has a degree in biology.
