Bulletin: Heather Kampf  3rd in New Balance Fifth Ave Mile in PR 4:19.7.  Jenny Simpson first in 4:18.30
Ben Blankenship 8th in men's race in 3:53.9, Mason Ferlic 17th in 3:59.9

Women's race was a battle among the top three with Jenny Simpson and the UK's Laura Muir battling from the front with Heather Kampf in their shadows.  All three ran PRs and were separated by a second at the finish.

Ben Blankenship set a blistering pace for the first 3/4 of the race where Olympic champion Matt Centrowitz took over, followed by training partner Eric Jenkins and Colby Alexander battling to the line.  Jenkins made a last second burst to edge Centrowitz and Alexander as all three ran PRs.

I've been dreaming of proudly displaying an American flag at #5thavemile for years, and to be perfectly honest, when I saw the start list this year, I was like, "aw crap..." because it looked tougher than ever to earn a podium spot. But it is thanks to that incredibly stacked field of competitors that @nyrr put together that I was pulled to my best mile time ever and that coveted third spot. I'm #day16thankful for New York Road Runners and their amazing staff for putting on the best road mile in the world every year. #thirtydaysofthankful
