Hamline Invitational Women's Results

Host Hamline's Becky Culp won the Shot Put(42' 7.5") at the Hamline Invitational at Klas Field on Saturday. The senior finished third (but first among DIII collegians) in the Discus with a 138' 3" throw.  Teammates Shawny Kramer 's 158'  effort in the Hammer Throw  topped all DIII college competitors and was second overall, and Sophia Salmanpour took third  in the 400 Meter Hurdles in 66.48  

University of Minnesota athletes competing unattached won five events, UMD and St. Thomas athletes won three, Bethel two, Bemidji State, Augsburg, and St. Bens one.  For the U of M unattached contingent Lauren Domski won the 800 in 2:15.30, Kelly Flynn the long jump(5.09, Kelsey Joson the triple jump(11.41), Kailee Kamps(43.16m) the Discus, and Lyndsey Thorpe(51.76m) the hammer.

UMD's Chanel Miller won the 100 hurdles(14.52), while teammates Amelia Maher took the 400 hurdles(65.70, and Kayla Wiltrout won the pole vault(3.55m). St. Thomas' Taylor Berg won the 1,500 in 4:32.68, the Tommies 4 by 400 relay won in 4:09.19, and Emily Van Heel triumphed in the 200(25.62).  Bethel's Courtney Fregeau won the 400 in 58.72, teammates Mollie Gillberg the steeple(11:39.31).  

Augsburg's Ashley Carney won the 100(12.39). Bemidji State won the 4 by 100 relay in 48.90, and St. Ben's Alexis Good won the high jump(1.65m).

While Becky Culp, was the top finisher in the discus competing in uniform, she was not the top collegian as stated...she was the 3rd collegian. The top 2 finishers in that event are both freshman at the University of MN, but are red-shirting the season and competing unattached.

You're right. It was from the Hamline SID release, but probably should says "top DIII collegian," which gets around having to explain that those in front of her were DI red shirts.
