USTFCCCA Rankings; Regional Awards

The Gopher men rose from 18th to 13th in the final USTFCCCA Division I rankings this week. Full listing is HERE.

In DII MSU Mankato's men fell one spot to sixth, while MSU Moorhead dropped seven places to 24th.  In the women's rankings, U-Mary stayed at seventh. Full listing is HERE.

In DIII St. Thomas' men's team fell one place to 16th.  St. Thomas' women dropped five spots to 17th.  Full listing is HERE.

St. Olaf's Brian Saska was named the USTFCCCA Central Region men's indoor athlete of the year.  Saska's 4:09.64 time for the mile is the second fastest time in DIII. St. Thomas' Maxwell Dunne was selected as the 2013 Central Region male field athlete of the year. Dunne's 5,025 score in the heptathlon also ranks second in DIII. St. Thomas head coach Steve Mahre received the men's indoor coach of the year award as the Tommies won their 29th straight MIAC indoor title this year. The Tommies horizontal jumps and multi-events assistant coach Erik Diley was named men's indoor assistant coach of the year

St. Thomas' Taylor Berg won the DIII women's indoor track athlete of the year award. She won the mile and 1,000 to help the Tommie women win their 14th MIAC title and will be running in two events at the NCAA DIII championships.  Hamline's assistant coach for throws is the women's assistant coach of the year. Jones mentored two conference champions who will also be competing in the DIII nationals this weekend.

In Division I, former Gopher Beth Alford Sullivan, who is the Director and Head Coach for track and XC at Penn State, was named men's coach of the year.
