Stephanie Herbst-Lucke, the Chaska High School grad who was inducted into the Minnesota Track and Field Hall of Fame last fall, defended her Peachtree Road Race women's masters title on Monday with a 33:29 clocking over the 10K course.
Herbst-Lucke, 44, a Georgia resident, was the 10th-place women's finisher in the race overall and the second American runner to cross the finish line.
Werknesh Kidane of Ethiopia won the race in 31:23. Adriana Nelson was the top American, 6th in 32:49. Former Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon runner-up Colleen De Rueck was the 2nd-place masters woman in 34:29.

USA Men's Championships ... Peachtree also served as the USA Men's 10K Championship. Team USA Minnesota's Josh Moen finished 11th in the championship in 29:20. Teammate Andrew Carlson was 21st in 30:16.
Ben True won the USA Championship race in 28:28, good for 5th-place overall behind winner Sammy Kitwara of Kenya who ran 28:05.
