Gabriele Anderson snipped four-one-hundredths of a second off of her 1500-meter personal best at the Occidental High Performance Meet in Los Angeles, California on Saturday night.
Anderson, one of a handful of elite Minnesota athletes competing in the meet, finished 10th in the fastest section of the women's in 4:12.02. Katie Follet won the race in 4:07.44.
Heather Kampf, Anderson's Team USA Minnesota teammate, narrowly missed improving upon her 800-meter PR at the meet. Kampf clocked 2:01.08 for fourth in the fastest section of the 800m -- just shy of her 2:01.05 personal best from 2007.
Alice Schmidt won the women's 800m in 1:59.48. Burnsville native Laura Januszewski ran 2:04.46 to finish runner-up in the "B" section of the women's 800-meter.
In the men's 1500-meter, Minnetonka High School alumnus Will Leer ran 3:37.01 for fifth in the premier section of the event, won by Andrew Wheating in 3;36.42.
Also of note at the meet, three-time Medtronic TC 1 Mile champion David Torrence finished third in the 800-meters in 1:45.43. TC 1 Mile women's champion Sara Hall finished fifth in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 9:50.41.
