The University of Minnesota men's track and field team opens the 2011 outdoor season ranked #10 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association preseason rankings for NCAA Division I school.
The Gophers, winners of the last two Big Ten outdoor championships, are the top-ranked Big Ten school in the ratings.
Florida tops the rankings, which are based on early season results and performances by current team members during the 2010 season. Texas A & M is ranked #2, followed by Texas Tech at #3.
The Gopher women open the season ranked #82 in the nation. Texas A & M tops the women's ranks.
