McGregor, Lehmkuhle Earn USATF-Minn. Award

Katie McGregor and Jason Lehmkuhle were named USATF Minnesota's Athletes of the Month for February 2011, the organization announced yesterday.

McGregor, a member of Team USA Minnesota, was honored for her 4th-place finish at last month's USA Women's Half Marathon Championships in Houston, Texas. McGregor, who won three USA road racing titles in 2010, including the USA 10 Mile held in conjunction with the Medtronic TC 10 Mile, ran one hour, 12 minutes and 13 seconds for the 13.1 mile distance.

Lehmkuhle, also of Team USA Minnesota, is recognized for finishing 5th in the USA Men's Half Marathon Championships also contested in Houston. Lehmkuhle ran the distance in 1:02:49. The race marked the fourth time Lehmkuhle has finished in the top-5 at the USA Half Marathon Championships in his career.

USA Track & Field Minnesota selects Athletes of the Month to honor excellence in track and field and its related sports in Minnesota. USA Track & Field is the governing body of the sport in the United States and the Minnesota Association of USATF sanctions and sponsors track and field, cross country, road racing, and racewalking events for athletes of all ages in the state.
