Team USA Minnesota milers Ryan Kleimenhagen and Brad Lowery will have their eyes on Minnesota Track and Field Hall of Famer Mike Slack's 1977 U of M fieldhouse record of 4:02.3 when they open their indoor campaigns this weekend at the Jack Johnson Minnesota Classic.
Kleimenhagen, who ran a 3:59.00 mile last January at the Boston Indoor Games, and Lowery, who has a 4:01.67 lifetime-best in the event, are also shooting for the 4:01.20 standard which would qualify them for the AT&T USA Indoor Championships to be held February 24-25 in Boston.
Competition at the meet begins at 10:00 a.m.; the gun for the Men's Mile fires at noon.
