Emily Kompelien(1) outsprints  Emily Covert(2) in the final straightaway. 

                           
                                Khalid Hussein(1) holds off Maxwell Manley to win the 1600.

Manley said that the duo have raced each other 4 or 5 times this season and each time Hussein
won on the final straightaway.  Manley, a junior, said that he was planning on running

Kompelien said she saw Cover(2)t start her kick about 400 meters from the finish. 
Kompelien tucked in behind Covert before unleashing her kick in the final
straight.
