Mark Nenow--The North Dakota Connection

The North Dakota connection is pretty strong in the Minnesota track and running community.  Mark Nenow, Mike Slack, and most recently Amanda Smock are a few who leap to mind for me.  Nenow came up during the Andrew Carlson interview because they have a similar history.  Both excelled in high school and moved on to notable running careers before trying the marathon.

In looking back through some old photos, I happened upon a couple of "Mr. Nenow" as Carlson calls Mark.  They are from the MSHSL championships in 1975.  Nenow won the title that year and these old black and white photos I took capture him coming down the stretch.  And if you're wondering: Where is he now?  Just click HERE.
