Multiple news outlets are reporting that Ryan Shay collapsed and died of heart failure in the 6th mile of the Olympic Marathon Trials this morning in New York City. AP story here. Shay recently finished in 24th place at the USA 10 Mile Championships, hosted by Twin Cities Marathon. He finished 3rd in the 2006 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon.
