Cromwell native Jen Houck, who has a knack for setting new personal records in the marathon, will seek another on Sunday at the ING New York City Marathon.
Houck (pictured), whose current PR is the 2:33:01 she ran to finish fifth at Grandma's Marathon in June, plans to follow up her New York City effort in 10 weeks at the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston.
Who knows what her PR will be after all that!
The StarTribune's Rachel Blount has a nice profile of Houck, HERE, which outlines the St. Scholastica grad's accomplishments and plans.
Houck has run five marathons in her career -- each one an improvement on the one that preceded it.
Houck is part of a diverse American elite field at New York that also includes three-time Olympian Jen Rhines, two-time USA 5000-meter champion Lauren Fleshman, and former USA 25K champion Molly Pritz, among the women.
