Three-time MSHSL Class AA cross country champion Maria Hauger earned a trip to the Footlocker National Championships with a fifth-place finish at the Footlocker Midwest Championships in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Saturday.
The Shakopee High School junior clocked 17:40 for 5K on the challenging UW-Parkside course. Molly Seidel, a senior from Hartland, Wisconsin, won the race in 17:04.
The top ten individual runners in the seeded girls' and boys' races advance to the Footlocker National Championships in San Diego, California on December 10.
Hauger (pictured), who qualified as an individual to compete at Nike Cross National on December 3, was the only Minnesota qualifier to Footlocker Nationals.
Jamie Piepenburg, the Alexandria High School senior who nearly won the Class AA girls' title earlier this fall, finished, finished 13th in Kenosha running 18:02. Eagen High School junior Danielle Anderson finished 31st in 18:34.
In boys' competition, the top Minnesotan in the seeded race was Foley High School junior Charlie Lawrence who finished 41st in 15:53.
