This season, the University of Minnesota men's track and field team had enjoyed the enviable position of being the only Big Ten men's program ranked in the top-25 of the NCAA Division I outdoor rankings.
With the release of the latest NCAA rankings yesterday, however, the Gophers suddenly find themselves out of the top-25 and looking up at a pair of conference rivals in the the top-25.
The Gopher men are ranked #32 in the current rankings, down 16 spots from last week. Penn State, at #17, and Wisconsin, at #22, lead the Gophers in the rankings.
Texas A&M now leads the men's rankings, followed by LSU and Florida State.
The Gopher women leaped 26 spots in the rankings this week to match the men at #32. Only Indiana, at #30, outpaces the Gophers among Big Ten schools.
LSU is #1 in the women's rankings, followed by Texas A&M and Oregon.
