Kara Goucher will race in April's Boston Marathon, event organizers announced this morning.
The Duluth native, who finished third in the 2009 edition of the race in 2:32:25, will be joined by fellow American Desiree Davila in the elite women's field.
Goucher (pictured) said in a recent blog post, HERE, that she plans to return to racing at January's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Half Marathon on January 18, 2011. The competition will be her first since she gave birth to her first child, Colton Mirko Goucher, in September.
The Boston Globe's story on the announcement is HERE.
The 115th Boston Marathon takes place on April 18, 2011.
