After winning the heptahlon, Lakeville South grad Shaina Burns finished fifth in the Girl's Shot Put Championship flight at the New Balance HS Outdoor Nationals in North Carolina on Sunday. Burns toss, on her third throw of the competition flew 13.88m/45'6.5". Shot put results are HERE.
In the Boy's 800 Championship Waseca's Shane Streich, the MN Class A 800 and 1600 champion, finished sixth in 1:52:06. Bloomington Jefferson's Matthew Rosen was 16th in 1:53.47. The placing were determined by times recorded in separate heats. Full results are HERE.
