In another day of action at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon, Carleton alum Philip Dunn, already Beijing-bound in the 50k Race Walk, took 8th in the 20k Race Walk. The competition was held on a 1k loop outside of the Dunn, who currently resides in
Jim Dilling, an alum of Minnesota State Mankato, fell short in a bid to defend his USA Outdoor championship in the high jump. His mark of 7-02.25 fell 4.25 inches shy of his best, and placed him 11th in the Olympic Trials.
After nailing opening height on his first attempt, Dilling took all three of his attempts to clear 7-02.25 and was unable to better that mark. The
