UMAC Athletes of the Week

MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kevin Wagner has set out to make his final track and field season with the Saints his best yet setting the tone for the end of the year by placing second in the decathlon at the University of Wisocnsin-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge Saturday. The senior won both the 110-meter high hurdles and the javelin events to finish with a two-day total of 6,531 points which ranks fourth best in Division III this season. Wagner finished behind Ethen Schoen of the University of Wisconsin-Stout who ranks first in the nation. Wagner's is first in three events in the UMAC this season. Wagner and the Saints compete at the famous Drake Relays this weekend.

Nicole Chrisitianson continues her excellence in the high jump and has shown her final season could be the year she takes it all. The senior placed second in her premier event Saturday at the Phil Esten Challenge matching her program record and career-best mark of 1.70 meters (5-7). She was second to Wartburg College's Kailey Kladivo who won on number of attempts. Christianson's UMAC-leading mark is tied for fourth-best in the nation this season with the top mark at 1.73 meters (5-8). Christianson and the Saints will compete at the famous Drake Relays this weekend in Des Moines, Iowa, for a final tuneup before the UMAC Championships.
