Registration for the 19th annual William A. Irvin 5K is now closed, Grandma’s Marathon officials announced Monday.
The 3.1-mile race, scheduled for Friday, June 15, accepted the first 1,900 registrants – an increase of 200 from 2011.
The William A. Irvin 5K starts and finishes alongside the permanently docked William A. Irvin ore boat near the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center. The race takes place the night before Grandma's Marathon and the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon.
While registration is also closed for the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon, spots remain available for the 36th running of Grandma’s Marathon. Registration for the full marathon will close June 1.
