Carleton freshman Hart Hornor was the second MIAC finisher and first MIAC freshman in the 5K at the Bolstorff Twilight meet at Macalester . Hornor ran to a top-three finish in the men's 5,000-meter run and was the second MIAC finisher and first MIAC freshman. For his performance, Hornor was named the MIAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
Hornor's 14:58 placed him third with the only two runner ahead of him were last year's MSHSL 3200 champion, Josh Thorson, who ran unattached, and MIAC cross country champion Grant Wintheiser. Hornor's time now ranks third in the MIAC, and it's the top Knights' freshman time in more than a decade. Hornor is also ranked in the top four in the league in the men's 10,000-meter run, and he's the top-ranked freshman in the conference in both races.

St. Olaf senior Becca Bevans turned in one of the top times in both the MIAC and all of NCAA Division III in the women's 10,000-meter run at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. Bevans was the second MIAC runner to cross the finish line in a field of mostly Division I student-athletes. For her performance, Bevans was named the MIAC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete-of-the-Week.
Bevans ran 36:09.43 and missed a spot in the top 10 by just three seconds. That beat her previous season-best of 36:27.12, and is the second-fastest time in the MIAC this season behind only teammate Emma Lee, who finished seventh at Drake. Bevans is the ninth fastest time in Division III this season. Bevans also holds the MIAC's third-fastest time in the 5,000-meter run.

Concordia senior Kaari Jensen finished tenth in the women's heptathlon over the weekend at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. Despite competing against mostly Division I student-athletes, Jensen recorded one of the top scores in the MIAC and the nation in 2013. For her performance, Jensen was named the MIAC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week.
Jensen's totalled 4,760 points and was the only Division III student-athlete to finish in the top 17 in the event. Her score is the best in the MIAC in 2013 by nearly 400 points, and it currently ranks second in Division III in 2013, just 55 points behind the national leader. The talented, versatile Cobber scored at least 700 points in four of the seven events, and she missed matching her own school record by just 69 points.
