After a quick one week vacation, the Yes/No contest returns with a new question.
As the unofficial Twin Cities Marathon tune-up race since 1982, The City of Lakes 25K has a special place in our local running history. Jeff Winter is the founder/and race director for this event, as well as for many other big races in the Twin Cities throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Drawing upon these experiences, Winter wrote a very interesting history of the City of Lakes Marathon for RunMinnesota in 2003. This story is in two parts and can be found HERE and HERE.
Unfortunately, Winter is currently battling health problems. He has a CaringBridge site set up HERE.
This week's question...
Yes/No: Will three or more women run faster than 1:40 at the City of Lakes 25K on Sunday?
In both 2010 and 2011, Michelle Frey won the City of Lakes 25K and a total of three women ran faster than 1:40. In 2009, Erin Ward won the race and again a total of three women ran faster than 1:40. Sheena Dauer won in 2008 and two women ran faster than 1:40. Five women were under 1:40 in 2007 in a race won by Jenna Boren. In 2006, only Kari Thompson finished faster than 1:40.

My Answer: No
The previous Yes/No question was: Will Garrett Heath run faster than 8:30:00 in the 2 Mile at Aviva Birmingham on Sunday? The answer was yes - Heath just snuck under 8:30, running 8:29.43 Twenty-two players answered correctly. Mike Mason is back in the lead by himself with twenty-three points. Next up is Ryan Aylesworth and Gloria Jansen with twenty-two followed by Evan Roberts and Heather Jelen with twenty-one points. No one answered all four August Yes/No questions correctly, but there were thirteen players that went three-for-four.
