In the men's race the Gophers moved up steadily throughout the race to place fourth with 128 points.  Iowa State was third with 128 with Oklahoma State winning with 63 points and Tulsa second with 77.  The gopher's Aaron Bartnik finished fourth in 30:02.1. U of M SID release on the men is HERE.
Cretin-Derham Hall grad Kevin Docherty helped his Iowa team to finish seventh as the second finisher for the team in 46th in 30:58.6.

Mounds Park Academy grad Mason Ferlic finished seventh in the Great Lakes Region Meet in 30:25, his University of Michigan team finished third. Ferlic was the fifth individual finisher who was not on a team that qualified for the NCAA Championships, so he just missed an automatic qualifier, but the NCAA also selects two "at large" qualifiers.  So Ferlic has to wait on the selectors decision to find out if he will be going to the NCAA XC Champs.

The West Region was full of surprises as defending NCAA men's champ Edward Cheserek(29:35) finished second to Stanford's Maksim Korolev(29:33.5).  In the women's team race, Boise State won a tiebreaker with Stanford for second place and the final automatic team qualifying spot in that Region.  Elk River grad Emma Bates finished second(19:34.2) to Griak winner Shelby Houlihan(19:31.6) in the individual race.Pre-race story on Houlihan is HERE.

NCAA DI All Region selections are HERE One Gopher man and four Gopher women are among those honored.
