Amanda Smock finished third in the triple jump with a leap of 45'2.25"(13.77m). Since none of the triple jumpers in the top four finishers has an A or B standard qualifying mark, a complicated scenario now begins for any one or three of the top four to book a trip to Moscow for the World Championships.  The process is explained HERE.

Kara Goucher finished fifth in 32:59.23, Danielle Stack 13th in 34:13.52, Meghan Peyton 17th in 34:51.49, and McKenzie Melander 21st in 37:00.43 in the 10K final.  Team USA Minnesota's Jon Peterson finished 21st in the men's 10K in 30:19.74

Richfield's Obsa Ali placed ninth in 15:22.3, and Edina's Will Burke was 15th in 15:30.84 in the USATF Junior Championships in the 5K.

Team USA Minnesota's Gabriele Anderson, running her last quarter in 60.86, won her heat in 4:11.55 to qualify for the final of the 1500. Teammates Jamie Cheever qualified for the finals of the 3000 meter steeplechase finishing third in her heat, seventh overall in 9:59.35; and  Heather Kampf finished third in her heat in 2:02.23 to qualify for the semifinals on time.

Will Leer and Ben Blankenship qualified for the men's 1500 final, finishing second in their heats.  Leer was second in heat on in 3:41.01, and Blankeship ran 3:41.86 in heat three.  Garett heath finished fifth in heat two in 3:48.03, and Rob Finnerty was eighth in heat three in 3:42.72.  Neither advanced to the final.

The Gopher's Haran Aba finished sixth in the fourth and final heat of the 800 in 1:47.02 to advance to the semifinals on Friday.  His teammate Travis Burkstrand was fifth in heat two in 1:49.49, but failed to advance.

Maggie Ewen finished seventh in the USATF Junior Championships shot put with a throw of 47'5.75"(14.47m).  She fouled on four of her six throws.
