USATF Masters Meet Report II

Three Minnesota milers were medalists Saturday at the USATF national masters indoor championships in Landover, MD – and Susan Loyd added a bronze in the W55 60m to the gold she won in the 400m Friday.  Donald Sazima, 84, Minnetonka, tied for first in the M80 high jump at 1.02m/3' 4"  after winning the pentathlon Friday.

Lance Elliott of Edina took the silver in the M40 mile in 4:28.06.  Thom Weddle, Minneapolis, took second in the M70 mile in 6:54.97. Pat Billig, Roseville, the silver medalist in the M50 3000m on Friday, came back to take third in a field of 23 runners in the M50 mile with 4:48.16.   Brian Lundberg, Edina, finished sixth in a field of 17 in the M45 mile in 4:52.16.

Loyd, also from Edina, was third among American sprinters in the 60m in 9.51.  A guest competitor from Puerto Rico was second. 

Jim Schoffman, Fridley, ran on the third-place Mass Velocity Track Club 4x200m club relay team.
